Duties and Taxes

For the overwhelming majority of international shipments processed through Stackry, duties and taxes are paid upon delivery in the client's home country. Countries and carriers listed on this page require Stackry to collect duties and taxes, and in the case of Aramex, Delivery Duty Paid must be collected by Stackry in specific countries. Details are included for affected countries. Contact the experts at Stackry support with any questions.

Australia

VALID FOR ALL CARRIERS

For shipments with a total Customs Declared Value of less than A$1000 you must pay GST to Stackry. See below for calculation:

  • GST (Goods and Service Tax) Only
  • Calculation Factors
    • Customs Declared Value +
    • Actual Shipping Charges +
    • Consolidation/Repackaging Fees +
    • Amount paid for Insurance +
    • Amount charged for Storage Fees (if any)
  • GST is calculated multiplying the sum of all above charges by 10%

Notes:

Stackry is unable to ship any item or item(s) with a total value >AU$1000

Bahrain

VALID FOR ARAMEX SHIPMENTS ONLY

Pay VAT equal to 5% of the customs declared value + freight + insurance

Kuwait

Aramex Only:

All shipments – $3.30 Stamp Fee plus
For shipments with declared value between 100 KWD to 300 KWD you must pay 5% plus $5 Clearance and Handling Fee
For shipments with value greater than 300 KWD – you must pay 5% plus $10 Clearance and Handling Fee
Duty is 5% of the customs declared value + freight + insurance

All Other Carriers:

Duty is calculated the same as above. Stamp, handling and clearance fees will vary depending on the carrier selected.

New Zealand

VALID FOR ALL CARRIERS

For shipments containing items that have a Customs Declared Value of less than NZ$1000 you must pay GST to Stackry. See below for calculation:

  • GST (Goods and Service Tax) Only
  • Calculation Factors
    • Customs Declared Value +
    • Actual Shipping Charges +
    • Consolidation/Repackaging Fees +
    • Amount paid for Insurance +
    • Amount charged for Storage Fees (if any)
  • GST is calculated multiplying the sum of all above charges by 15%

Notes:

For shipments with a total Customs Declared Value of greater than NZ$1000, GST and duty will be assessed at the border by NZ customs officials and paid to the carrier.

GST is charged for shipments to consumers AND GST registered NZ businesses*

*GST can be charged on shipments to businesses due to the fact that over 50% of Stackry shipments are to consumers.

Norway

VALID FOR ALL CARRIERS

For shipments containing items that have a Customs Declared Value of less than NOK 3,000* you must pay VAT to Stackry. See below for calculation:

  • VAT (Value-Added Tax) Only
  • Calculation Factors
    • Customs Declared Value +
    • Actual Shipping Charges +
    • Consolidation/Repackaging Fees +
    • Amount paid for Insurance +
    • Amount paid for Storage Fees (if any)
  • VAT is calculated by multiplying the sum of all above charges by 25%

Notes:
For shipments containing items that have a customs declared value of less than NOK 3,000 regardless of total value, VAT will be collected by Stackry.
For shipments containing items that have a customs declared value of greater than NOK 3,0000, VAT will be assessed at the border by NO customs officials and paid to the carrier.
*For shipments containing a combination of both of the above (high and low value goods), VAT will be assessed at the border by NO customs officials and paid to the carrier

Singapore

VALID FOR ALL CARRIERS

For shipments containing items that have a Customs Declared Value of less than S$400 you must pay GST to Stackry. See below for calculation:

  • GST (Goods and Service Tax) Only
  • Calculation Factors
    • Customs Declared Value +
    • Actual Shipping Charges +
    • Amount paid for Insurance
  • GST is calculated by multiplying the sum of all above charges by 9%

Notes:
For shipments containing items that have a Customs Declared Value of greater than S$400, GST will be assessed at the border by SG customs officials and paid to the carrier.

Saudi Arabia

VALID FOR ARAMEX SHIPMENTS ONLY

For shipments with a value of less than SAR1000, you must pay VAT equal to 15% of the customs declared value.

For shipments with a value of more than SAR1000, you must pay VATduty, and a $10 USD clearance charge, where:

  • Duty is 5% of the customs declared value + freight + insurance
  • VAT is 15% of the customs declared value + freight + insurance + duty

Calculations for customs declared value, freight and insurance are shown below:

  • Customs declared value is the valuation placed on items in your shipment
  • Freight is 0.5 SAR per kg
  • Insurance is 1% of the customs declared value + freight

United Arab Emirates

VALID FOR ARAMEX SHIPMENTS ONLY

For shipments with a value of less than AED1000, you must pay VAT equal to 5% of the customs declared value.

For shipments with a value of more than AED1000, you must pay VATduty, and a $5.45 USD clearance charge, where:

  • Duty is 5% of the customs declared value + freight + insurance
  • VAT is 5% of the customs declared value + freight + insurance + Duty

Calculations for customs declared value, freight and insurance are shown below:

  • Customs declared value is the valuation placed on items in your shipment
  • Freight is
    • $75 USD if weight is less than 25kg
    • $3 USD per kg if weight is more than 25kg
  • Insurance is 1% of the customs declared value + freight
